In the bustling life of an entrepreneur, every day is a whirlwind of decisions, challenges, and relentless pursuit of innovation. For over 20 years, I, Janis, navigated the demanding world of managing a web agency and building software products for global businesses for the last decade, where my mind was always ‘on’. It was a journey filled with highs and lows, where the pressure was a constant companion.

It was during a late Sunday night in spring 2015, after a heartwarming weekend with my then-fiancée Sveta, that a seed was planted. Our relationship was a testament to the dedication, spanning different cities and countries, marked by 50 consecutive weekends of travel before our marriage. That night, as I penned down my thoughts in a diary – a practice I had been following for six months – I noticed a pattern. Most of my entries began with ‘Wow, what a ….. day!’. These words captured the essence of our relationship and my daily entrepreneurial rollercoasters – the triumphs, the setbacks, and everything in between.

This realization sparked an idea. I called Sveta, eager to share this epiphany. We envisioned creating a tool that could encapsulate these ‘wow’ moments, helping others like us – young couples or entrepreneurs who constantly juggle myriad responsibilities – to find positivity and meaning in their everyday hustle. It was more than just a project; it became our ‘love project’.

The initial concept morphed over time. We first dabbled with the idea of a mobile app but faced roadblocks. However, these challenges only fueled our determination. We revisited our original idea and transformed it into the physical form of the WowDay journal. It was a labor of love, taking nine years to perfect. This journal is not just a product; it’s a piece of our journey, a tool forged in the fires of entrepreneurial challenges to help others find gratitude and solace in their everyday struggles.
