Wow, what a day!
The day started beautifully. Michael woke up earlier and made breakfast with eggs and toast, fresh orange juice, jelly, and coffee. He even put flowers on the table! He doesn’t do it often, but when he does, he always makes sure that I feel special.
After he left for the car service, I thought that a couple of hours of Michael-free time will be a good idea to re-arrange his electronics that he never lets me touch. I started arranging our new media corner first with grouping gaming consoles and games together in the front, the router and TV thingy in the back and speakers around the room with cables concealed.
I was done in about 30 minutes. It looked even better than expected. I even thought of sound distribution in the room. So I placed the speakers as I learned from the Internet.
When I plugged everything back in (I had to plug everything to move it around). I decided to send Michael a teaser with a picture. But, I noticed my phone wasn’t connected to the Internet. I checked the router and it was off. I checked the cable, I checked everything, plugged and unplugged, checked my laptop… NOTHING.
I got really anxious. Of course, Michael will nag at me that I touched the electronics again and erased something. Why does technology hate me?
When Michael came back, I told him what happened and that maybe he knows what I did wrong. It wouldn’t work for him too. I told him exactly how I handled it and I found out I did nothing wrong. Although he wasn’t mad at me or anything, he was upset because his new expensive router didn’t work. We started looking for a receipt so that we go to the shop and change it. We couldn’t find it… He got even more upset over the fact that now he will have another 70 Euro to buy another router.
I sneaked out and called the customer support and explained the situation, thinking they can at least give me a piece of advice… maybe this happened before. They asked me when it was bought and if we still have the receipt. I told her we don’t have the receipt, so the woman on the phone said she needs to speak to her manager. After around 45 minutes on hold, they said they will change it, but they don’t have the same model on stock so they will change it for… a more expensive model! That was an unexpected turn of events, I really thought they would tell me to go shopping again. I am one lucky woman.
I rushed to tell Michael the good news. He hugged me and told me: “Even if you did break it, I wouldn’t be mad at you anyway. That’s because I know you always know how to make things right, and that’s why I love you”
My conclusion of the day: Even if something seems lost, keep trying and you will succeed 🙂
