Wow, what a day!

Today was one of those summer days when you sweat even early in the morning. On top of that, my air conditioner is still broken. I really hope someone comes very soon to fix it, or I will lose my mind.

By 10 AM I already took 2 showers and I was sweating like a pig. I couldn’t stand it anymore, the heat was driving me crazy. I had to do something. I saw Dazy was also suffering from the heat, it was painful to look at the poor dog.

I told Jessica we are going on a trip, we quickly packed and drove off. I thought it was a great idea to spend the day in the mountains. It’s never this hot in the mountains, plus it’s less than a two hours drive. What can be better than a day in nature?

When the road started winding and the ears started popping, we turned the A/C off and opened the windows to let the cool air in. It felt AMAZING! We drove up to Zugspitze and took a hike. Daizy also happily played frisbee with us. We also found lots of blackberries and wild strawberries in the woods. The Alps is the most beautiful place in the world.

When we were back in Munich, we were exhausted. I couldn’t wait to get home and get into the cold shower ASAP. Also, the heat didn’t go away. It was very hot and I started longing for the cool mountain air. This is when the sky flashed and then we heard thunder. It was more like an explosion and BOOM it started raining cats and dogs! We were so happy, we were laughing and dancing in the rain as if we wandered around the desert for weeks. Seriously, the rain is the best air conditioner.

I am so grateful we get to live in a city so close to the mountains, that we always have the opportunity to change our scenery with just a couple of hours drive. I think tonight I will sleep like a baby. Even if I wake up with a cold tomorrow, enjoying the rain was totally worth it.
